Plans Drawn and Submitted

When you have made the difficult decision to extend or alter your property, in the first instance a phone call to Steven's Brickwork should quickly confirm whether planning permission from your local authority is required, generally speaking if you plan to extend your property you will need planning permission and/or building regulations approval. Most major alterations require some type of permission, Steven's Brickwork can usually advise on this.

To obtain these you must firstly have technical plans drawn up by a qualified architect (Steven's Brickwork can provide this service for you at an extra charge if you do not already have any, we can also make the application to the relevant local authority on your behalf again for the relevant local authority fee)

Ideally these plans will have been approved by the local authority, if this is the case Steven's Brickwork can give you a detailed quotation based on your plans, an estimated project duration and possible start date.

If the plans have only just been drawn up and the application is still pending we can still give you a quotation although this is more likely to be an estimate as local authority's sometimes can insist on large or small amendments to be made to the plans to gain approval, if this is the case the price is subject to change. This application process can vary between 5-8 weeks.

We realize that many people will want to "shop" around to obtain various quotations but be aware that going for the lowest quotation often means lowest quality Steven's Brickwork guarantee that the price you receive from ourselves will be very competitive.

We have also found that some customers want ourselves to complete the project from the start to finish, and others want to get more involved especially if they are or have a family relative or friend who are in the building trade themselves. This is not a problem as we will be very flexible to suit your needs and this point will be discussed at the initial site visit stage and will be detailed in the quotation what is included.

If our quotation meets with your requirements and is within your budget then a quick phone call to us will confirm your booking and depending on our current workload we can estimate a starting date for your project.

When the project begins we will manage it right from the start, ensuring timescales up to date, material deliveries and organizing the many trades involved, unfortunately in this country one thing we have no control over is the weather and sometimes the project may fall behind because of this but usually it is only very minor and often timescales given will allow for a period of any unforeseen circumstances.
